How EcoSafe works

EcoSafe is grounded on the principle that, at the start of a contract, the project developer deposits all the necessary maintenance funds on a special maintenance fund. After this, this money can solely be used for the maintenance of the plantation.

Annually, maintenance funds are transferred by EcoSafe to an approved maintenance company. This money is transferred as soon as the maintenance activities of the previous year have been inspected and approved.

The management and the annual payment are contractually bound by rules and are under the continuous scrutiny of an accountant. EcoSafe and the maintenance company are obliged to produce clear reports, open to any of the parties.

EcoSafe has been set up cost-effectively. It operates as a Dutch foundation and collaborates with partners situated in the country where the plantations are established. Owing to this it is possible to offer solid inspection-services for a low tariff.

For every plantation, a separate maintenance fund is established.
